"A painting is not about an experience. It is an experience."
The white landscape of the small garden is brought to life through the changing light and colours cast by the painterly yet transparent glass panels created specifically for this space by Jessica Townsend. The garden is a constantly changing sculptural time space, staging the evolving light conditions through the day and amplifying the changing seasons. The garden is framed by a group of Salix alba 'britensis', the Scarlet Willow. Its bright red stems creating an outstanding winter display which complements and heightens the effect of Jessica's work.
